Saturday, 8th December - Final NWG Inc Gathering for 2007
Sales of The Road Home DVD will be on sale at New Writers last event for the year. We will launch our annual Anthology with readings from our poets and
story-tellers followed by a poets forum with David Musgrave and Jess Cook helping us answer that perennial question: How do poets find their audience?
The DVD's will be $15 each and include Part l (a collaboration with NWG Inc) and Part ll which features 'Dear Father' and 'Flotsams' both written and

Synthetic Spaces Exhibition (Western Front) which has moved to Castle Hill Community Centre
(at Castle Grand) until 13th September 2007.

The Road Home is a video artwork by multi-media artist, Fida Haq, in collaboration with writers from New Writers' Group Inc.
The concept of 'The Road Home' is one that never fails to produce a reaction, a memory, a fantasy, a wish. Writers' written responses to this theme
cover the humourous and tragic, the political and spiritual.
Fida's videowork is created from the images and sounds of the writers reading their pieces interlaced with street scenes and water scapes
in Parramatta locations.
Fida first exhibited the work at the
Hawkesbury Regional Gallery as one of his visual works in the group
exhibition entitled Synthetic Spaces (Western Front) (8th June - 22 July). The work was also screened at the HomeWord Festival launch,
10th June 2007, see details below.

Award winning Australian author David Malouf is one of the finest writers of our time. He will talk with Ivor Indyk (Writing and Society
Research Group - UWS) about writing in our forum at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta. There will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
